Every format family runs as its own sandboxed module — canvas for raster images, libheif for HEIC, pdf.js for PDF, the Web Audio API with LAME for audio, and MediaRecorder for video. Modules load on demand as WebAssembly; nothing is uploaded, queued, or rendered on a server.
- No file ever leaves the tab. Every module runs in a sandboxed worker, and there is no upload endpoint to send bytes to.
- Modules load only when needed.The page fetches the small Wasm binary for the format you picked — a second visit reuses it from cache, offline.
